TWL crew has teamed up with the guys over at RAW Strength & Conditioning one last time before the 2016 CrossFit season kicks off. Every Monday for the next 5 weeks we will be releasing a weekly challenge carefully crafted with an emphasis on getting you in shape for what is to expect in the 2016 CrossFit Open.

The first released WOD is a 10 minute increasing ladder of power cleans, wall balls, and double-unders. This rep scheme looks like it might get pretty spicy really fast!

The guys over at BodybuildingRev challenged 5 great athletes to the take each other on and see who can get in the most reps. The athletes will squat their bodyweight (minimum of 85kg) unbroken for 5 minutes. Brutal!

The competitors are…

– Olympic Cyclist Robert Förstemann (GER)
– World record holder in Powerlifting Andrej Mostovenko (RUS)
– European champion in Powerlifting Victor Beilmann (GER)
– ‘Berliner Meister’ in Powerlifting Thomas Faber (GER)
– Tetzel Schmidt, a local Strongman (and metal singer) (GER)

Henry Sailes Does Fran in 1:53

Henry completed the benchmark WOD in a crazy 1:53. In case you don’t already know what FRAN is, it’s 21-15-9 of thrusters and pull-ups. It’s also just one of those workouts that takes you out for an entire day after you do it, but amazingly enough Henry looks completely unaffected after completion. Crazy stamina!

The CrossFit Open and CrossFit Season has officially started. 2016 registration is now live for the Open and workout 1 (16.1) will get released on Monday February 25th PST (Tuesday February 26th ACDT). If you haven’t already, be sure to follow the link below to register. It’s game time!

The CrossFit Liftoff is well behind us, but Event 3 proved to be a great test to even some of the most experienced CrossFit athletes. If you can remember back a few months, Rich Froning (508 reps) and Sam Briggs (507 reps) took first place in this event.

2016 CrossFit Games Season Dates Released

Ready or not, the 2016 CrossFit season is officially in motion.

CrossFit HQ has released the 2016 schedule of events which include the Open, the Masters Qualifier, Regionals, and the Games. So far it looks like there are not too many changes from the 2015 season. The 8 super regions from 2015 all return, with no new events or surprises being added to the mix… as of yet.

STAGE 1: The Open

Five Weeks | Feb. 25 – March 28, 2016

AFFILIATE SUPER LEAGUE

AFFILIATE SUPER LEAGUE

Once again, Affiliate Super League– one of the premier functional fitness competitions in South Australia opens up an  Event 2 “ASL 2” which will be held on 12 December 2015.

The said event is an “Invitation Only” individual knockout tournament.

Athletes will battle it out for $4,550 of skins prize money. Winners will be crowned male and female champion of the Affiliate Super League.

Save the date and be a part of this tournament that will surely mark in Affiliate Super League’s history.
